7th Monthly Methane Monday Webinar, organized by MARCOGAZ, GIE and Energy Community
Approaching the end of 2022,MARCOGAZ, GIE and the Energy Community Secretariat are pleased to invite you to the next Monthly Methane Monday, scheduled for 28 November 2022, 14:30-15:30 CET.
This time, the topic is “MIST- support to gas system operators to combat methane emissions“. Over the past few years, Carbon Limits has been putting its methane quantification expertise into an inventory software, called MIST ( Methane Inventory Systematic Tool). The tool is free for all oil and gas companies and allows them to easily develop their methane inventory no matter where they are in their methane journey. MIST allows to estimate emissions for 28 different emissions sources using a complete tool box of approaches and is fully compatible with OGMP 2.0 reporting. The next version launch is planned for January 2023. The MIST 2023 plan objectives will be addressed, as well as a demonstration and the possibilities to contribute to the plan.
As methane is second only to carbon dioxide in its impact on the climate, addressing methane emissions
in the energy sectors is critical. That is why we are glad to continue organising the Methane Mondays during the last period of 2022, taking into account that this year, methane emissions reduction in the energy sector is one of the most important issues on the political agenda in the EU.
The scope of the Methane Mondays includes the energy industry’s views on the proposed
Regulation, recommendations to reduce venting and flaring, best available technologies to reduce
emissions and best available technologies to improve compliance with reporting levels 1 to 5 within the
OGMP 2.0 framework, as well as tools to increase the transparency of methane emissions along supply
chains to the EU.
For organisational reasons, you are kindly requested to register for the meeting online, preferably not later than 28 November 2022. Your event registration confirmation message will contain a link for virtual participation.
