MARCOGAZ to take the stage at EUSEW 2021

MARCOGAZ is happy to announce that Secretary General Manuel Coxe will be speaking at the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) on 28 October 2021 at 14:15 (CEST).

In his address, Mr Coxe will elaborate on the role of gas system as an energy storage system under system integration. While drawing attention to the need for storage systems that ensure the security of energy supply and the stability of the power system, the presentation aims to demonstrate how an integrated energy system can cater to primary, secondary, and tertiary reserve system and ensure flexibility, resilience, and supply security with storage in the EU energy system.

At EUSEW 2021, MARCOGAZ will explain solutions for the system integration through power-to-gas technology and their importance for the large-scale energy storage. Power-to-gas can eliminate the problems of supply and demand imbalances resulting from rising amount of intermittent renewable resources in power systems. The presentation will illustrate different scenarios for gas storage with centralised and decentralised renewable and low-carbon generation and the extent to which storage of gas from renewables will impact the energy dependency in the EU.

The EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) will take place on 25-29 October 2021 under the theme: Towards 2030: Reshaping the European Energy System.

Mr Coxe’s presentation will take place under virtual Energy Talks, a dedicated online platform available for attendance under “Networking” after registering for EUSEW.
