The role of LNG in decarbonising the energy system

MARCOGAZ, the technical association of the European gas industry, has recently investigated the role of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the decarbonisation efforts of the transport system in two technical reports. As a low carbon energy carrier, LNG performs well in transportation sector and contributes to the achievement of the gas industry’s decarbonisation ambitions and meeting EU targets set in the Green Deal.

Our webinar “The role of LNG in decarbonising the energy system” will highlight the technical opportunities and potential of Bio-LNG and Synthetic LNG in decarbonising the transport sector. The opportunities the existing European LNG infrastructure offers for the decarbonisation of the gas industry will also be elaborated from a technical perspective as the share of LNG in transport is projected to rise according to European Commission’s latest proposal on the regulatory revision of the alternatives fuel infrastructure.
