MARCOGAZ deals with several technical works including technologies for supply of natural gas, hydrogen, biomethane and other low-carbon gases and carbon capture; decarbonization of the midstream and downstream gas systems; gas usage with focus on energy efficiency; and horizontal technical assessments on gas quality and metering, safety, and methane emissions. The technical part of the work involves permanent monitoring of safety aspects at all levels of the gas value chain, including gas appliances and infrastructure. The transmission and distribution sectors also require several technical safety and environmental procedures to ensure network resilience and to assess the impact of the acceptance of new gases into the network.
The technical work is developed by seven technical groups working coodinately through a single work program.
