MARCOGAZ Tech Forum on Gas Odorisation

MARCOGAZ is thrilled to present its 5th Tech Forum, an online webinar that promises to give insightful results on the diverse aspects of gas odorisation from both technical and standardisation perspectives.

Event Details:
●      🗓️Thursday, 30 May 2024
●      ⌚11:00 AM – 12:30 PM CEST

This webinar will delve into the latest MARCOGAZ publications on odorisation: “Odorisation of natural gas/hydrogen mixtures and pure hydrogen” and “Natural gas odorisation practices in Europe” and will also address the production, measurement and regulation of gas odorants in Europe.

The publication “Natural gas odorisation practices in Europe” explores the historical evolution and current practices of odorisation in the European gas industry. It discusses the necessity of odorisation for safety, particularly due to the natural gas’s odorless nature. The document provides a comprehensive overview of odorisation practices across Europe, including legal regulations, control methods, types of odorants used, and concentration levels. It emphasizes the variations in national regulations and highlights the importance of interoperability network codes for consistent safety standards. Overall, the publication serves as a valuable resource for operators seeking to enhance odorisation processes while maintaining safety standards.

The publication Odorisation of natural gas/hydrogen mixtures and pure hydrogen aims to provide detailed information to assist in odorising gases containing hydrogen effectively. The document is divided into two sections, with the first part discussing theoretical interactions between hydrogen and odorants, while the subsequent sections provide existing data on the subject. The conclusions section offers additional insights and considerations for odorising hydrogen-containing gases.

Join our panel of experts on Thursday, 30 May 2024 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm for a timely and insightful discussion on gas odorisation.
