Hydrogen quality for blending with natural gas

MARCOGAZ is pleased to share its latest technical recommendations on hydrogen quality for blending with natural gas.

Our work aligns with the mission to decarbonize the gas grid and reaching climate neutrality. We are therefore very pleased to share our latest technical assessment in support of the industry’s enhanced efforts.

Undeniably, hydrogen has become a crucial enabler in the EU decarbonization strategy for reaching climate neutrality and the proposed targets by 2050. Hydrogen should allow for storage of intermittent renewable energy and can be used as a fuel for applications which are difficult to electrify.

Following a review of the current standards and other national specifications for natural gas, bio- methane and pure hydrogen quality, our latest technical recommendations focus on the quality of hydrogen to be blended with natural gas or biomethane.
